The baked pork chop over fried rice was simply delectable and reminded me of my many visits to local cha chaan teng in Hong Kong. The portions are generous, and the prices are still reasonable, especially considering how expensive dining out can be nowadays. I also couldn't resist trying the milk tea, which was smooth and fragrant. The atmosphere was bustling, much like you'd experience in Hong Kong, which added to the charm. The only downside was that service could be a bit rushed during peak hours, but honestly, it's worth it for the food! Definitely a place I'll keep returning to. " Spending some time at The Boss Bakery was an authentic treat! I must say the garlic steak was mouthwatering; perfectly cooked and not overly greasy. I also loved their fruit tarts, which were so fresh! The prices felt fair considering the generous portion sizes and quality of the food. Some servers did seem a little overwhelmed during peak hours, so a slight delay occurred getting my food, but I think that’s to be expected at such a popular spot. " I had an amazing time at The Boss Bakery and I was blown away by the food! It truly feels like eating in a little corner of Hong Kong. I had the wanton soup and it warmed my heart. The broth was aromatic, and the wontons were handcrafted and exceedingly fresh. I also indulged in their egg white pancakes which blew my mind! They were light but filling, a hard balance to achieve. While the service was quick, it did lack the warmth I hoped for. Nevertheless, the ambiance felt the most authentic of any Chinese cafe I've encountered in Vancouver. The food was pretty average, and while I appreciated the variety, some dishes just didn't have the authentic Hong Kong taste I was hoping for. " I couldn't resist stopping by The Boss Bakery after hearing so much about their buns! I was excited to try their famous custard bun and it did not disappoint. They bake them fresh every day, and the warmth paired with the rich custard filling was absolutely addictive! Although the café was bustling and the service a little slower than preferred, the genuinely friendly atmosphere made up for it. I went there for breakfast and loved their macaroni soup which, frankly, didn’t seem as common outside of China. This little gem is definitely worth a visit!
